Thoughts on infertility part 1 Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob

Three things are never satisfied;
     four never say, “Enough”:
  Sheol, the barren womb,
    the land never satisfied with water,
    and the fire that never says, “Enough.”
Proverbs 30:15b-16

Have you ever noticed how each one of the patriarchs had barren wife? Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob?

Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob and Rachel.

How did they each deal with their barren wives.

1. Abraham listened to his wife and used her handmaiden to obtain a son. He also prayed for a child, and was given a child of promise by his wife Sarah.

2. Isaac prayed for his wife and she conceived and bore twins.

3. Jacob did nothing. He did not care because he already had children by Leah.
So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed to him but a few days because of the love he had for her. Genesis 29:20

He loved her enough to work for her for seven years plus seven years, but he did not love her enough to pray that she would be able to have children, even though this was the desire of her heart.

I am very blessed to have husband who loves me and prays for me.

 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray.  James 5:13a

  1. I love you. I'm sorry that you are going through this. Praying.
    I love you.

  2. I love you too. Thanks for praying for me. I've honestly been having a pretty good week.
